Brian Hacker Eliminated in 4th Place ($91,085)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Brian Hacker - 4th Place
Brian Hacker - 4th Place

Brian Hacker opened for a raise on the button, and Vladimir Shchmelev repotted from the small blind. Mel Judah folded the big blind, and Hacker called off.

Hacker: {a-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Shchmelev: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

A flop of {7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Hearts} gave Hacker a set and Shchmelev a low draw. The turn was a {10-Clubs}, and Shchmelev added a jack to the list of cards he was seeking. The dealer burned and turned over a {j-Spades} as the river card, sending Hacker to the rail.

All In, Call, and Chop

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Action began on Brian Hacker who potted before the flop to 84,000. In the next seat over Vladimir Shchmelev repotted to 252,000. Action folded back around to Hacker who moved all in and he was quickly called by Shchmelev.

Shchmelev: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Hacker: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

The board rolled out {5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} giving Shchmelev a flush for high and Hacker an ace-six for low. That was good enough for a chop pot for the two men.

Quads for Shchmelev

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Ashly Butler raised to 50,000 on the button, and Brian Hacker and Vladimir Shchmelev called from the blinds.

Everyone checked the {4-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop, and the {q-Hearts} arrived on the turn. Again, everyone checked. The river was a third queen, the {q-Diamonds}. Hacker checked, Shchmelev bet 50,000, and Butler called. Shchmelev tossed the {q-Clubs} into the middle. Butler mucked his hand, saying he had pocket kings.

Judah Takes From Shchmelev

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Action folded to Vladimir Shchmelev in the small blind who raised to 45,000. Mel Judah called from the big.

The flop came down {K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and Shchmelev fired off 50,000. Mel Judah took a second look at his cards, grabbed a stack of T25,000 green chips and raised it to 200,000.

Shchmelev shot up in his chair, looked at his cards, then threw them into the muck rather quickly. Judah raked in the pot and pushed himself closer to that 1 million chip mark.

John Cernuto Eliminated in 5th Place ($67,262)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
John Cernuto - 5th Place
John Cernuto - 5th Place

Action folded to "Miami" John Cernuto in the small blind. He raised the pot, and Ashly Butler immediately slid out a stack of green chips to indicate he was putting Cernuto all in. Cernuto called.

Cernuto: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Butler: {k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

The flop was {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, keeping Cernuto in the lead with two pair, but giving Butler a low draw and a wheel draw. A {j-Diamonds} on the turn changed nothing.

"Just pair the board," Cernuto growled.

Instead, the dealer placed the {4-Clubs} down, which gave Butler a straight and the nut low, eliminating Cernuto in fifth.

Tyler Nelson Eliminated in 6th Place ($50,197)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Tyler Nelson
Tyler Nelson

Ashly Butler is on a complete tear here in Event #46 and he has continued his rampage by eliminating Tyler Nelson in fifth place.

Butler opened to 50,000 and action folded around to Nelson in the small blind. Nelson potted it, moving all in. Butler quickly called.

Butler: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Nelson: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

The flop came down {3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} destroying Nelson's low draw, as Butler had flopped a better one. The turn was the {A-Clubs}, only improving Butler's high hand to a set. The river was the {J-Diamonds} and that was it for Tyler Nelson who couldn't catch up. Nelson was still able to pick up $50,197 dollars for his sixth place finish.

Andrey Zaichenko Eliminated in 7th Place ($37,847)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Andrey Zaichenko - 7th Place
Andrey Zaichenko - 7th Place

Ashly Butler has claimed another victim at this final table.

Butler raised to 60,000 after action folded to his small blind, and Andrey Zaichenko made the call.

Butler then checked the {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} flop, and Zaichenko moved all in. Butler nearly beat him into the pot.

Butler: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Zaichenko: {a-}{8-}{9-}{10-}

Zaichenko had flopped a wrap straight draw, while Butler had top pair with top kicker. The turn was a {4-Clubs}, a beautiful card for Butler since he now closed out many of Zaichenko's outs with his flush and low draw. The {4-Spades} river sealed Zaichenko's fate.

Butler Takes a Big One From Zaichenko

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

We missed the action of the hand, but a fellow tournament reporter relayed to us that Andrey Zaichenko opened the pot and was called by Ashly Butler. On the flop both players checked. On the turn, Zaichenko bet and Butler called. On the river Zaichenko just check called.

When we got to the table Butler had {3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} tabled on a board of {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Zaichenko showed {A-}{A-Diamonds} but it was no good and Butler scooped the pot worth over 300,000.
