Spets Eliminates One

Level 11 : 0/0, 600 ante

The action started with Age Spets opening to 1,800. David Vamplew and Tom McCormick made the call, as Michael Lipman went into the tank. With only 4,000 chips behind, he finally decided to just call, as the four saw the flop come {A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}

It checked around to McCormick, who threw in a bet of 3,900. Lipman again thought about his decision for over a minute, before opting to call off his remaining chips. Spets was next to act, and he took his time, before moving all in for approximately 22,000 in chips.

“Protection for ya,” said McCormick to Lipman, as Vamplew got out of the way.

Lipman got out of his seat, as he waited for the action to be complete. McCormick ended up folding, as Spets rolled over {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} for top pair. Lipman confidently tabled his {4-Clubs}{5-Spades} for an up-and-down straight draw, as both players waited for the dealer.

“Three! Three! Three!” pleaded Lipman, as the dealer rolled over the {10-Hearts} on the turn. “Eight,” he cried, but the river would be no help, with the {5-Clubs} giving him a lesser pair, as he was sent to the rail.

Hills Heads For the Hills

Level 11 : 0/0, 600 ante

Andrew Hills got his short stack all in with {k-Spades}{j-Spades} preflop. His opponent Mario Masciotro made the call with {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Hills would need help to stay alive.

The flop gave reason for Hills to head for the hills as it came {9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. The turn however started to bring him back to his seat as he had a small sweat with the {k-Hearts} to pair. He would need a jack or king to remain seated.

The river was paint but unfortunately the {q-Spades} and not what Hills was looking for. Hills fled away and Masciotro moved his stack up to over 92,000.

Hesse: {8-Spades}{10-Spades}
Panzica: {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, as Panzica’s ace-high was good enough to take down the pot, sending Hesse to the rail.
