The popular $1,500 no-limit holdem events with massive fields attract all sorts of players with a wide variety of playing styles. Greg Raymer, 2004 Main Event Champion, recently told us about an interesting hand at his table which he called "an example hand from a $1,500 No-Limit."
Lazaro Hernandez raised to 225 preflop, and the small blind three-bet to 775. Hernandez called, and the flop came rainbow. The small blind bet enough to put Hernandez all in, about 1,800, and Hernandez snap-called with . The small blind showed and did not improve. Raymer, who was present at the table but not directly involved in the hand, perhaps put it best when he said, "That wasn't it the range I put him on."
