A Walk in the Park

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

During the hand-for-hand segment of play used to burst the money bubble last night, Daniel Park was involved in a memorable hand against David "Dragon" Pham, one which showed that the young Park is not afraid to get his chips in the middle with an edge.

With every player in the room waiting anxiously for the next bustout, Pham moved all in on the {4-}{5-}{8-}{4-} board, but his {A-}{4-} was in bad shape against the {6-}{7-} held by Park. After flopping the nuts, Park gave Pham just enough rope to hang himself, and with a monster pot now created, both players waited for the river to decide their fate.

River: {A-}

Pham exploded in celebration after pairing his kicker and filing up, while Park could only shake his head as a large portion of his stack was pushed across the table. Despite this brutal beat, Park remained in good spirits, telling his friends on the rail that he still had enough chips to make a comeback.

Today, Park proved that premonition to be accurate, winning a key pot recently with a four-bet all in shove. We caught the action with Park's preflop raise to 7,800 having been reraised to 18,300 by Jonathan Jaffe. After a minute of contemplation, Park announced himself all in, and Jaffe's hand was quickly tossed into the muck.
