Razz Time!
Welcome to Day 21 at the 2013 World Series of Poker. Today features the only Razz event on this year’s WSOP schedule, as Event #33: $2,500 Seven-Card Razz starts at 5 p.m. Razz events often attract small, but highly competitive, fields, and we expect a plethora a big names and famous faces at the tables once the event gets undersay.
Last year, this event marked Phil Hellmuth’s record-extending 12th WSOP bracelet. He bested a field of 309 players and captured a first-place prize of $182,793. En route to the bracelet, Hellmuth navigated through top-notch competition that included Barry Greenstein, Brandon Cantu, Scott Clements, Dan O’Brien, Ted Forrest, and Don Zewin, who finished third when Hellmuth won his first bracelet in the 1989 Main Event. Later in 2012, Hellmuth further improved his record by winning his 13th bracelet at WSOP-Europe.
The event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Stay with us here at PokerNews as we bring you live updates throughout tonight’s eight levels of play. In the meantime, here’s Sarah Grant to tell you about everything on tap today at the WSOP.
