Can Schneider Seal the Deal on his 4th Bracelet & 2nd H.O.R.S.E. Title in of the 2013 WSOP?
It was a long day of play here on Day 3 of Event #29: $5,000 H.O.R.S.E. at the 2013 World Series of Poker. More than twelve hours ago the remaining 28 players of a 261-player field returned to the Amazon Room to battle down to a winner. Unfortunately that didn’t happen as ten levels came and went with four players still alive. Consequently, those men will return on Tuesday for an impromptu Day 4. Leading the way with a massive chip lead is Tom Schneider, who is looking to capture his fourth gold bracelet and his second of the summer!
The day began with a bang as Gus Hansen was the first to hit the rail, though he was soon followed by the likes of Sabyl Landrum (25th), Todd Brunson (24th), Jared Jaffe (20th), Dan Kelly (17th), David Bach (16th), Marcel Luske (13th), Tom Koral (12th) and Alex Dovzhenko (9th).
To say the final table was accomplished would be an understatement. It was literally full of some of the best mixed game players in the world, many who've had success in the past and some more recently. For example, Greg Mueller finished third in Event #8 $2,500 Eight-Game Mix for $89,673, which came one year after finishing runner-up in the same event for $167,637.
A H.O.R.S.E. master and 2007 WSOP Player of the Year Tom Schneider, who won Event #15 $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. a week ago for $258,960 and his third gold bracelet. That was the same tournament in which Viatcheslav Ortynskiy finished third for $108,701. The fact that Schneider and Ortynskiy are among the top four in another H.O.R.S.E. tournament is simply incredible.
The first to go from the final table was H.O.R.S.E. bracelet winner Konstantin Puchkov, who earned $30,876 for his eighth-place finish. Over the next course of the next five levels he was joined on the rail by finalists David Benyamine (7th - $40,039), Adam Friedman (6th - $52,613) and Chris Klodnicki (5th - $70,093).
