Thater Looking for Second Gold Bracelet

Level 4

In 2007, Germany's Katja Thater made her presence known in the poker world when she won Event #29 $1,500 Razz for $132,653, making her one of the few women to win an open event at the World Series of Poker. Thater is in action today and looking for her second bracelet.

Omaha Hi-Lo

In a recent, Thater limped under the gun and inspired the player to her left, Seat 7, to do the same. Konstantin Puchkov came along from the small blind, the big checked his option and three players saw a flop of {2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{5-Spades}. Puchkov checked, the big blind bet and both Thater and Seat 7 called. After Puchkov folded, the {6-Diamonds} turned and the big blind checked to Thater, who bet 600, and both her opponents called.

When the {9-Hearts} completed the board on the river, the big blind checked, Thater bet and only Seat 7 called. Thater hesitantly tabled the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, which was good for the high as her opponent showed the {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for the low.
