Jewell Drops One

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

After eliminating a player with {2-}{2-} against {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} on a {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} board (the turn was the case deuce and the river wasn't the {j-Hearts}, Kurt Jewell had another opponent all in. After a series of preflop bets and raises, Jewell put out enough chips to put the player all in. The player sighed, then called with {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, which was ahead of Jewell's {k-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Jewell took the lead when the dealer fanned {5-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, and remained ahead when the {q-Spades} turned, but the {a-Diamonds} spiked on the river to give the player a pair of aces.

He doubled, while Jewell dropped to 28,000 chips.
