Bloch Makes Correct Call For Half

Level 17
Andy Bloch Takes the High
Andy Bloch Takes the High

Picking up with the action on the flop, we found Todd Barlow, Andy Bloch, and Christopher George looking down at a board of {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Barlow and Bloch checked over to George who fired out a bet. Both players called to see fourth street.

The dealer rapped the table and flipped over the {6-Diamonds}. Three checks prompted the final card, the {3-Hearts}, to strike the felt. Barlow checked and Bloch checked behind. George cut out one final bet and Barlow quickly called.

Bloch went into the tank for quite some time before reaching for a stack of chips and making the over-call.

George showed {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for the nut low and Barlow fanned {A-Diamonds}{x-}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for the same nut low. Bloch showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

"Ace-queen for the high," the dealer stated at first.

"Pair of fives," someone else chimed in.

Bloch's pair of fives was good for the high while George and Barlow each received one quarter of the low.

"That's a world class over-call right there," stated Mike Matusow to Bloch from across the table. "World class."

"Nah, it'd be world class if I just had ace-queen," replied Bloch who stood up and walked over to continue talking with Matusow.
