Turbo Finds a Double Up

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Los Angeles based poker pro Phong Nguyen, nicknamed "Turbo" for his multiple deep runs in live turbo events, has been grinding an average stack the entire day. We just caught Nguyen putting his tournament life at risk preflop, and ultimately reaping the benefits of it, scoring a full double up.

Action started with a player in middle position making it 1,900. It folded around to Nguyen, and he moved all in for his last 17,700. It folded back around to the original raiser, and after about 90 seconds of thought, he made the call.

Nguyen: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Nguyen was looking to pair up one of his big cards, and he did just that on the {3-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop. Nguyen now needed to dodge a ten to hold up, and the dealer completed the board with the {4-Diamonds} om n the turn, and the {6-Spades} on the river. After that hand, Nguyen jumped up to 38,000.
