Blumenthal Busts Keating
Alan Keating had a good night last night as he ranked second in chips among the surviving 117 players. Unfortunately for him, Keating's luck turned on him here on Day 2 and he has been eliminated from the tournament.
It happened when a preflop raising war resulted in Keating and a late-position player being all in for 84,000 and 22,000 respectively. Eddie Blumenthal, who was in middle position, had them both covered.

The flop made things interesting as it gave Keating a flush draw and the other two players straight draws, but as it was Blumenthal's aces were still best. That changed when the dealer burned and turned the , which gave the late-position player trips. With that said, Blumenthal's aces still had him out in front of Keating in the sizable side pot.
There were plenty of cards that could change things on the river, but the that peeled off was not one of them. The late-position player tripled while Blumenthal took down the side pot and eliminated Keating from the tournament.
