Galfond Has a Lot Worse Than Kings

Level 6 : 200/400, 0 ante
Phil Galfond (Event 16) had a lot worse than Kings
Phil Galfond (Event 16) had a lot worse than Kings

There was an open to 800 from early position. Brock Parker and Hans Winzeler called in late position, and Phil Galfond tanked for a bit before three-betting to 2,600 out of the small blind. All three players called.

The flop fell {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{a-Hearts}, and Galfond led out for 3,200. The original raiser tanked for a considerable amount of time, then called. Parker and Winzeler both folded quickly.

The turn was the {5-Hearts}, the two players slowly knuckled, and the {8-Clubs} completed the board. The pair checked again.

"I have a weak ace," the player said, showing {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Galfond grimaced, then tossed his hand into the muck.

"Kings?" the player asked Galfond, who smiled.

"Little worse," he responded. There was a beat. "A lot worse, actually."
