John Hennigan Eliminated in 15th Place ($12,601)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
John Hennigan (Day 2) - 15th Place
John Hennigan (Day 2) - 15th Place

Dario Minieri raised on the button, Dan Kelly three-bet to 33,000 out of the small blind, and John Hennigan re-raised the pot out of the big blind. Minieri folded, and Kelly tanked for a bit before moving all in for an extra 20,000 or so. Hennigan called.

Kelly: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Hennigan: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The {2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop didn't change anything, and the {j-Diamonds} on the turn was a blank as well, but the {a-Spades} spiked on the river to give Kelly a winning pair of aces. At the site of the ace, Hennigan threw his hands in the air in disgust, then exited the tournament area to collect his $12,601 in winnings.

Kelly now sits with 315,000 chips.

Hennigan, Kelly Double

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

John Hennigan raised it up from middle position, and Steven Kelly called from the big blind. The flop came {4-Spades}{j-Spades}{2-Spades}, and Kelly led out for pot, which put Hennigan nearly all in. He put everything in the middle, and tabled {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a pair of eights and a flush draw against Kelly's {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for overs and a higher flush draw. Kelly bricked out with {6-Hearts} and {q-Diamonds}, doubling Hennigan up.

Two hands later, action folded to Kelly on the button, and he minraised. Dario Minieri potted to 42,000 from the small blind, and Dan Kelly repotted from the big blind. Steven immediately pushed all in, and Minieri folded. Dan called to put Steven all in.

Dan: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Steven: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The flop came {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{3-Clubs}, increasing Dan's outs by a little. The turn was a {4-Spades}, increasing his outs by a lot as he picked up a flush draw. A {j-Diamonds} river completed neither of his draws however, and Steven went from doubler to doublee.

ElkY Fois Deux

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Kevin Vandersmissen raised in late position, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier re-raised the pot out of the blinds, and Vandersmissen moved all in for effectively 114,000. Grospellier quickly called.

Vandersmissen: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Grospellier: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The {2-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} flop gave Grospellier a commanding lead, and the hand was suddenly over when the {2-Spades} turned to give the Frenchman kings full of deuces. A meaningless {9-Clubs} completed the board, and Grospellier doubled to 234,000 chips.

Vandersmissen slipped to 130,000.

Matt Marafioti Eliminated in 16th Place ($9,925)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Matt Marafioti - 16th Place.
Matt Marafioti - 16th Place.

Cary Katz raised it from a middle position on a very short stack, and Matt Marafioti, in the big blind, got it all in with him preflop.

Marafioti: {10-}{10-}
Katz: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The board ran out {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}, leaving Marafioti with only 28,000.

A few hands later, action folded to Marafioti in the cutoff, and he raised pot. Bertrand Grospellier reraised from the button, and the blinds got out of the way. Marafioti called off his last 4,000 and turned over {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Grospellier's {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} had him dominated however, and a board of {2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Spades} did nothing for Marafioti.

Katchalov Doubles; Herm Still Has "Todd"

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Eugene Katchalov raised to 12,000 in early position, Mark Herm three-bet to 28,000 out of the small blind, and Katchalov re-raised the pot, making it 90,000. Herm asked to see the rest of Katchalov's stack - it was 32,000 more - and Herm moved all in. Katchalov quickly called.

Katchalov: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Herm: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The dealer fanned {10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}, giving Katchalov a set, and Herm needed a king or running diamonds to score the knockout. The {2-Clubs} bricked on the turn, and so too did the {6-Clubs} on the river, and Katchalov doubled to 246,000 chips.

"Comfort zone," someone on the rail said to Herm, referring to his 20-big blind stack. "Comfort zone."

"Comfort zone?" Herm responded. "I still have Todd."

For some reason, Herm and some of his good friends took Todd Heap, the former tight end of the Baltimore Ravens, and use his first name to refer to their stack when they have "heaps." We'll update you on any more lingo information comes along.

Vandersmissen Shoves the Turn

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

John Hennigan, in the cutoff, fired a second bullet against Kevin Vandersmissen with the board reading {9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Vandersmissen, who had called a flop bet, thought for a bit before raising enough to put Hennigan all in. Hennigan folded immediately.
