Andrew Brown Bust Out

Level 15

Hold'em

After the pre-flop betting, Andrew Brown was left with just 2700. He pushed it all forward on a flop of {7-}{q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, and Maxcel Verdugo made the call. Verdugo turned over {a-Spades}{j-Spades}, and Brown revealed {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Neither player had hit the flop, but Verdugo was ahead with his ace-high. The turn and river were the {6-Hearts} and {8-Spades}, Verdugo's ace was good enough to win. Brown has been eliminated.

Bach Calls Down

Level 15

Hold'em

David Bach raised from under the gun, and Tyson Marks three-bet from middle position. Everyone else folded, and Bach called.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Bach check-called, and the action went the same after the {4-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Both players then checked the {2-Diamonds}.

"Ace," Bach said, turning over {a-Spades}{7-Spades}. His hand was good, and he dragged the pot.

Heimiller Takes One from Chiu

Level 15

David Chiu has been moved to a new table, and now he, Dan Heimiller, and Dan Kelly are all seated next to each other. It will be interesting to see these pros do battle as the players try to reach the final table.

Omaha Eight or Better

Heimiller got the better of Chiu in a recent hand. Chiu raised pre-flop, and Heimiller called, as did the big blind, who checked the {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{j-Spades} flop. Chiu continued, Heimiller called, and the big blind folded. Chiu bet again when the {9-Spades} fell on the turn, and Heimiller again made the call. The river was the {8-Diamonds}, and this time Chiu checked and Heimiller bet out. Chiu thought for a minute before folding.

Heimiller is now close to the top of the leaderboard with 144,000. David Chiu, even after losing that pot, still has 81,000.

Jack "The Snake" Deutsch Alive and Well

Level 15

Over break we spoke with Jack "The Snake" Deutsch, who was inaccurately reported as having been busted out of the tournament earlier today. Deutsch is, in fact, alive with 25,000 in chips and is very much still in contention for the final table.

Schneider Builds his Stack

Level 14

Stud Eight or Better

Tom Schneider completed on third street showing {q-Diamonds} and was called by Joseph Couden and Randy Ohel. Schneider bet out on fourth street after receiving the {4-Diamonds}, Couden folded, and Ohel called showing {2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Schneider bet again on both fifth and sixth street, and Ohel called both times. Then both players checked the river and revealed their cards:

Schneider: {q-Spades}{6-}{5-}/{q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Ohel: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}/{2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Schneider won the high his pair of queens, and neither player qualified for the low. Schneider scooped the pot and adds more chips to his table-leading stack. He now sits with 157,000.
