Take it to the Limit
Day 1 of Event #10: $1,500 Limit Hold'em is set to begin in a half hour or so in both the Orange Section of the Amazon Room and the Red Section of the Brasilia Room. As the field gets smaller and smaller, the tables will break into the Orange Section, until all of the players are in the Amazon Room.
David Arsht won this event last year, topping a field of 730 players to earn $211,921. Joining him at the final table were notables Al “Sugar Bear” Barbieri and Alex Queen.
This is one of only three limit hold'em events at the 2013 World Series of Poker - sorry, Matt Matros - and we anticipate seeing a very interesting combination of old school limit grinders and green newbies looking for a shot at a bracelet in a smaller buy-in event.
We also anticipate welcoming some of the greatest players of the game, including Matt Glantz, Barry Greenstein, J.C. Tran, Jason Mercier, and Daniel Negreanu, who all have busted the noon event.
The cards will be in the air at 5 p.m. local time, and the plan is to play eight 60-minute levels with a 30-minute "dinner" break after Level 4. Be sure to stay tuned for all of your live, up-to-the-minute updates straight from the tournament floor.
