Welcome back to the World Series of Poker for continued coverage of Event 9: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry. It's going to be a big day, with a whole batch of new players and any players who busted yesterday all piling into the Rio to take their shot at glory.
Yesterday saw 1,696 players take to the felt and the goal was to play down until just 15% of the field remained. That amount was 254 players and it took just under 10 levels to get there. By the time it was all over, Giorgio Medici was the one with the most chips and sets the bench mark at 106,500 for today's action.
With plenty of huge names from the poker world playing yesterday and failing to make it through to Day 2, you can be sure they will be back today for a second chance. This includes none other than Phil Ivey, Jason Mercier, Vanessa Selbst and Betrand Grospellier. Those players are only a tiny portion of the superstars who will most likely be taking to the felt today.
It all begins in just over an hour at 12:00 p.m. local time, so be sure to keep your eyes locked to your computer screen as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on the floor of the Rio all day long. It's going to be a very exciting day, so don't miss it!
