"Who Puts in Eight Millions Bets With That Hand?"
There are probably two players remaining in today's event who could say something like this, and it wasn't Mike Matusow. That's right, Phil Hellmuth just jumped up from his chair and burned his opponent, Barry Hartheimer, down pretty hard after losing a big pot.
The board read when Hellmuth had put in a raise and Hartheimer called. The river brought out the . Hellmuth bet out straight away and Hartheimer raised. "Call," Hellmuth snapped to his opponent who turned over for the broadway straight.
Hellmuth stood up from his chair and under a second later he exploded. "What the f...," Hellmuth swallowed his words before getting into penalty trouble. "I knew your were gonna give me all your chips! I let you win five hands and now you do this? How can you get this far in a tournament?," he added not even looking for an answer. "Dumb luck Phil, just dumb luck," Hartheimer replied calmly.
Hellmuth showed for the turned nuts and the flopped nut flush draw. "Does he get everything?," Hellmuth said steaming as he was looking for a way to get at least some of his chips back. "Yes I do," Hartheimer said with a smile. "Who puts in eight millions bets with that hand?," he ranted on as the dealer started pitching the cards. "You only lost like 9,000 Phil, take it easy," Hartheimer added to the rant that didn't seem to end. Hellmuth is still alive, but a moment like this could blur his vision and we will keep a close eye on the 11-time WSOP champ who slid his headphones and glasses back on. Back to the grind for Hellmuth who needs to regain some focus if he wants to chase number 12 in this event.
