More for Gee

After three hands with no flop on the secondary feature table, the next saw Steven Gee take some chips off of Robert Corcione.

First, Yuval Bronshtein raised from middle position, claiming the blinds and antes. Then Robert Salaburu got a walk in the big blind. In the third hand, Danny Wong opened to 245,000 from the cutoff, then saw Robert Salaburu reraise to 560,000 from the small blind. It folded back to Wong who after a half-minute laid his hand down.

Then it was Robert Corcione opening for 250,000 from early position. Steven Gee called from a couple of seats over, and Jeremy Ausmus also called from the small blind.

The dealer spread the flop — {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} — and it checked to Gee who bet 480,000. Ausmus folded, but Corcione quickly pushed out a stack of chips to call.

The turn brought the {J-Clubs}. This time Gee bet 1,080,000, and Corcione tossed his hand away.

Nicco Maag Eliminated in 27th Place ($294,601)

Nicco Maag - 27th Place
Nicco Maag - 27th Place

From under the gun plus one, Nicco Maag raised all in for 1.11 million. Russell Thomas called from middle position and everyone else folded.

Maag held the {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} and was at risk to Thomas' {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. Not only was Maag at risk, but he was also dominated.

The flop came down {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Maag didn't find much help there. On the turn, the {3-Clubs} fell and Maag was down to needing a jack and a jack only on the river. With the turn bringing a third club to the board, Maag couldn't hit the jack of clubs.

The {2-Clubs} fell on the river and finished off Maag while giving Thomas a flush. Maag was eliminated as the first player to go on the day and earned $294,601 for his finish in 27th place.

Gee Grabs Some from Volpe

The first hand at the secondary feature table saw Paul Volpe opening for 240,000 from early position and getting a single caller in Steven Gee in the big blind.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Gee checked, and Volpe continued for 280,000. Gee thought a moment, then called. The turn was the {6-Clubs}. Gee checked again, and after pausing about 20 seconds Volpe checked as well.

The river brought the {10-Hearts}. This time Gee led out for 675,000. Volpe looked over at Gee, riffling his chips with his left hand with his right resting on his left shoulder. He then looked back down at his chips, taking two full minutes before letting his hand go.
