The board read , with about 75,000 in the middle. John Phan had checked to his opponent, who fired out 45,000. We took a peak at the table because the floor had just come over to administer the clock on Phan, who according to a tablemate after the hand, had been thinking for four and a half minutes. It only took about 20 more seconds for Phan to toss in the call, and his opponent didn't look too thrilled by the call. He flashed , and Phan turn over a winning .
A player in middle position opened for 18,000 and was called by Jake Cody on the button. Katie Dozier, who is a member of the Grindettes, then moved all in from the big blind for 74,000. The original raiser got out of the way and Cody made the call.

Dozier was ahead and looking to dodge big cards, which is exactly what she did when the board ran out . Dozier doubled to 175,000, while Cody dropped down to 105,000.
Michael Binger raised from early position only to have a short-stacked player move all in from middle position for 39,000. Binger thought long and hard before making the call:

Binger was way behind, but the flop did give him a gut-shot straight draw. Wouldn't you know it, the spiked on the turn to give him the said straight and the lead. The river was of no consequence, and Binger took down the small pot while sending his opponent to the rail.
The average chip stack is currently 229,000 and Terrence Chan just pointed out something interesting about his stacked table that features the likes of him, Ari Engel and JC Tran.
tchanpoker Terrence ChanWe just realized that at our table, I'm the only player above average. Avg is 229k. I have 232k. #WSOPME #nitsJuly 12 2012
Perhaps things will change for the players of Table 12 here in the Brasilia room, as they have just now been broken and spread throughout the Amazon and Brasilia Rooms.
For the moment, anyway. That's because Benjamin Alcober is currently our new chip leader, having inched over 1 million chips just prior to the last break.
Just now Alcober was involved in a hand versus a single opponent. The pair together saw a flop, with Alcober's opponent checking, Alcober betting 14,500, and his opponent calling. The turn brought the and another check from Alcober's opponent. This time he fired 21,000, and again was called.
Both players then checked the river. Alcober showed for queens, but his opponent had for two pair to take a few off the leader.
Just now Rosen was opening with a raise to 8,500 from middle position, then 2011 November Niner Phil Collins reraised to 22,000 from the cutoff. It folded back to Rosen who thought for about a minute before calling.
The flop came , and Rosen didn't wait too long before betting 20,000. Collins considered Rosen's bet for a half-minute, then let his hand go.
There was 22,000 in the middle when we arrived to the table to see that Jason Mercier was heads up with an opponent. The board had run down , and Mercier checked to his opponent, who fired out 20,000. Mercier tanked for about a minute before chucking his cards away.
After that pot, Mercier is down to 64,000, and we expect that he will be getting those chips into the middle fairly soon.
