Black Dispatched By Hyman

Andy Black
Andy Black

We noticed 2005 World Series of Poker finalist Andy Black was no longer seated at Table 438. A quick check with the lingering players revealed that Black was eliminated when he opened with a raise, Matthew Hyman three-bet, Black shipped all in with {J-}{J-}, and Hyman called with {A-}{K-}.

We're not sure how the board ran out, but we do know that Hyman ended with the best hand to send the Irishman to the rail.

It's Raining, It's Pauring Chips

Taylor Paur has seen his chip stack increase to over 400,000 recently, making him the new chip leader. We recently watched Paur rake in another pot, with a {3-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} flop already showing by the time we arrived at the table. There was over 7,000 already in the middle at this point and Paur had led with a bet of 3,200. His lone opponent called and it was on to the {6-Diamonds} turn. Paur again led here, splashing out a bet of 7,500. His opponent again called and the dealer flipped over a {7-Spades} river. Paur hesitated for a moment and then bet 18,800. Paur's opponent folded and more chips =were added to the towering stacks of Paur.

Glazier Busts Shorty

Jackie Glazier
Jackie Glazier

We don't know exactly how the action went, but we know that after a series of raises before the flop Jackie Glazier had her opponent all in and at risk. Once everything was settled the two players flipped over their cards and the whole table saw where they were at.

Glazier: {A-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {6-}{6-}

The board came {3-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{k-}{9-}{Q-Hearts} and with a nut flush Glazier was able to send out an opponent and bring in some chips.

Bull Dozier

Richard Toth opened to 2,000 from middle position, Katie Dozier three-bet to 4,700 from late position, and Toth made the call. The flop fell {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}, and Toth checked. Dozier continued for 7,000, Toth check-raised to 19,000, and Dozier tanked before re-raising to 42,000. Toth moved all in for 112,000, and Dozier called.

Dozier{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Toth{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The {q-Hearts} on the turn counterfeited Toth, and gave Dozier the best hand. The {2-Spades} bricked on the river, and Toth was left with just 1,400. He was eliminated shortly after.

Dozier is now amongst our leaders with 223,000.

Heinz Makes the Right Call

With 11,000 in the pot and a flop of {K-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, two players checked to the defending champ, Pius Heinz, who bet 3,600. The players in early position folded, while the other made the call.

Action went check-check on the {2-Clubs} turn, and then the middle-position player be 6,000. Heinz shook his head as if he didn't like it, but made the call nonetheless. Heinz's opponent was in no hurry to show and briefly flashed {Q-}{x-}, prompting Heinz to roll over {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for the winner.

"It's funny," Heinz said while stacking his chips, "Every time a card comes that I don't like, I call anyways and I'm right."
