Suck and Re-Suck

Paul Cogliano opened to 4,500 from under the gun, John Leathart called in middle position, David Halpern moved all in for 20,500 on Leathart's direct right, and Marty Zabib quickly made the call. Cogliano re-shoved, Leathart released, and Zabib called.

"I have the worst hand," Zabib announced.

"No," Halpern responded. "I have the worst hand."

Cogliano{k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Halpern{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Zabib{a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The flop fell {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Diamonds}.

"Give him a set," Zabib told the dealer.

If Cogliano turned a set, then Habib would have Broadway, but it was Halpern who turned a set when the {5-Diamonds} hit the felt.

"No diamond," Halpern requested.

The river was a diamond - the {9-Diamonds} to be precise - and Halpern was eliminated. Cogliano's stack rocketed to 160,000, while Zabib slipped to 240,000.
