Laak Loses One, But Still Doing Well

Phil Laak
Phil Laak

Phil Laak just dropped back to 66,000, but is still up more than double of what he started the day with.

From under the gun, Laak raised to 600 and found two callers, one in middle position and one in the cutoff seat. The flop came down {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Laak bet 1,000. The next player announced a raise and made it 1,600 to go, but was corrected by the dealer that he had to make it 2,000. He did so and the cutoff seat folded. Laak reraised and made it 6,050. His opponent called.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and both players checked. They also checked the {2-Spades} on the river. Laak showed the {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, but lost to his opponent's {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}.
