Thoennes Takes Hit, Still Strong

Mark Thoennes has had a good afternoon thus far, having chipped up over the 90,000 mark by the middle of Level 3. He just took a small hit in a three-way all-in situation, but still sits with a healthy stack as we move into the last half-hour before dinner.

We came upon the hand with Thoennes contemplating calling two all-in reraises by short-stacked opponents, then finally deciding to do so. One had {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, the other {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}, and Thoennes {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The board came nine-high — {2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} — leaving one player on the rail, another surviving, and Thoennes giving up a few from his big stack.
