Max Value For Phillips
We just found Carter Phillips over in the Bronze section, and he was looking very sharp with a 80,000-chip stack in front of him. Phillip is the owner of two World Series of Poker bracelet, one of which he won this year in a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event. Phillips told us a hand he won in the 75/150 level, and he wasn't joking about it being interesting.
After two limpers the action was on Phillips who raised to 800 from the cutoff with pocket aces. JC Tran was on the button and he three-bet to 2,200. The other players folded, and it was back on Phillips who made it 5,300 to go. Tran put in a five-bet to 8,600, and the pressure was back on Phillips. He went for the six-bet, and put in 12,600.
Tran decided to make the call, and the flop brought out . Phillips said he moved all in, and Tran made the call with off suit. Phillips' hand held up and he doubled up early on. Right now he's sitting on 80,000 chips and that gives him one of the top stacks in the room.
