Aces for Schwartz

Talal Shakerchi checked with the board reading {3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Noah Schwartz fired 155,000, and Shakerchi check-raised to 365,000. Schwartz tank-called.

The turn was another ten - the {10-Clubs} - and Shakerchi led out for 425,000. Schwartz called, and the {9-Clubs} fell on the river. Both players checked.

Shakerchi instantly mucked his hand, and Schwartz turned over two red aces.

Negreanu Doubles Through Phua, Again

Daniel Negreanu was all in preflop for 364,000 with the {K-Hearts}{J-Spades} against the {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for Paul Phua. Negreanu had moved all in from middle position and Phua called on the button.

Negreanu: {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Phua: {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and Negreanu had to wait until the river to get his double up. He moved back to nearly 800,000 while Phua was kicked below 500,000.

Small One for Voulgaris

Action folded to Guy Laliberté on the button and he raised to 63,000. Haralabos Voulgaris made the call from the small blind, the big got out of the way, and it was heads-up action to the {2-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop, which both players checked.

When the dealer burned and turned the {Q-Hearts}, Voulgaris bet out a modest 65,000, which proved enough to take down the pot.

Galfond with the Shove

Roland De Wolfe raised from under the gun to 56,000. Tom Dwan reraised to 160,000 from middle position and Mikhail Smirnov flat-called in the cutoff seat and action slid over to Phil Galfond in the big blind. He moved all in and everyone folded, allowing him to take the pot and move to over 2.4 million.

Hand to Hansen

Talal Shakerchi raised to 57,000 from early position and got one caller in Gus Hansen in the cutoff. Both players checked the {2-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop and {Q-Clubs} turn. The {Q-Spades} river, however, evoked some action, as Hansen pushed out a bet of 276,000 following Shakerchi's check.

Shakerchi thought a moment and called, and when Hansen showed {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for jacks and queens, Shakerchi mucked.

Negreanu Falling Back Down

From early position, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi raised to 50,000. Action folded over to Daniel Negreanu on the button and he reraised to 156,000. Mizrachi called when play got back to him and the flop came down {J-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}.

On the flop, Mizrachi checked and Negreanu bet 125,000. Mizrachi called. The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Mizrachi led out for 125,000. Negreanu folded in disgust and dropped back to 572,000. Mizrachi moved over two million.

On the next hand, Negreanu opened with a raise to 52,000 from the cutoff seat and Rick Salomon called on the button. Chamath Palihapitiya called from the small blind and Paul Phua called fromt he big blind.

With four players in, the flop came down paired {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}. Action checked to Negreanu and he bet 82,000. Salomon and Palihapitiya folded before Phua made he call.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and both players checked. They also checked the {Q-Hearts} on the river.

Phua tabled the {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Negreanu mucked his hand, once again unable to produce a winner. Negreanu dropped back under 500,000 in chips.

Slow Going at the Feature Table

Level 7 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Things have been fairly quiet over at the feature table. While other tables are playing host to all-in situations, we've yet to have even an all-in shove, let alone an all in and a call. Instead, the hands here have been a little more subdued.

For example, in a recent hand Phil Ruffin limped from the cutoff and then called a raise from Guy Laliberté, who made it 124,000 to got from the button. When the flop came down {4-Hearts}{J-Spades}{A-Diamonds}, Ruffin simply check-folded to a 140,000 bet.

Steven Check-Calls on the River

When we reached Table 401, the board read {k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, and there was about 700,000 in the pot. Brandon Steven checked to Frederic Banjout, who tossed out what looked like 230,000. Steven quickly called.

Banjout rapped the table, and turned over {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for ace-high. Steven tabled {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for a pair of kings, and won the pot.
