ElkY Pressures Shakerchi

After Talal Shakerchi opened for 14,000 from early position, he received three callers and it was four-way action to the {3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop. Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier was first to act in the small blind and checked, opening the door for Shakerchi to bet 42,000.

Noah Schwartz then raised to 93,000 from middle position, Paul Newey folded from the cutoff, and Grospellier woke up with a check-raise to 244,000. Shakerchi made a relatively quick call and Schwartz decided to get out of the way.

When the {K-Hearts} appeared on the turn, Grospellier slid out a bet of 444,000. Again Shakerchi wasted little time in making the call, bringing about the {9-Clubs} river. The Frenchman refused to slow down and came out with a hefty 777,000 bet, one that gave Shakerchi pause. The latter thought for a solid four minutes, knowing a call would cost half his remaining stack, but he ultimately laid it down.
