The Comeback Duo

2-7 Triple Draw

Dan O'Brien and Chris Bjorin were among the shortest stacks when the money was reached, but they are far from out!

"Are you getting this?" O'Brien just said as we were writing down how he doubled up. "This is the comeback story," O'Brien added as he took a sip of his first beer of the day.

O'Brien was down to just 3,900 chips on the bubble, and right now he's back up to 11,600. Chris Bjorin was just all in for his final 5,000 chips again Brett Richey, and the hand played out like this.

Richey took two cards on the first draw while Bjorin needed one. On the second draw Richey took two and Bjorin stood pat. Bjorin showed a ten-low and Richey was drawing to a better low. He paired up on the last draw and Bjorin doubled up.

On the next hand Bjorin raised to 5,000 from the cutoff and the big blind defended. Both players took two cards and both players checked. On the second draw the big blind took one card and Bjorin needed two again. The big blind lead out for 5,000 and Bjorin hesitated before making the call with just a couple of chips behind.

On the final draw both players stood pat en Bjorin called all in. The big blind tabled {8-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} and Bjorin said that was no good as he tabled {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Bjorin and O'Brien are still in the hunt, but a few more double ups would help them out!
