Vedes Getting Short

Panayote Vilandos opened to 65,000 from the button and was called by Tommy Vedes in the big blind.

The flop came {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Vedes check-called an 80,000 bet from Vilandos. Both players checked the {4-Clubs} turn, however, after Vedes checked the {9-Hearts} river, Vilandos fired 175,000 into the middle. Vedes tanked for some time, but eventually chucked out a call. Vilandos tabled {J-Hearts}{Q-Spades} for the nut-straight and Vedes disgustedly mucked.

Vedes is down to his last 200,000.
