Aguiar Doubles Through Pellegrino

Jon Aguiar
Jon Aguiar

Nick Jivkov folded his button, and Bryan Pellegrino made a pot sized raise of 90,000 in the small blind. Jonathan Aguiar shoved all in for 245,000 total, and Pellegrino snap called. The cards were flipped, and Aguair was in the lead.

Aguiar: {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Pellegrino: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The flop kept Aguiar in front, as it came {5-Spades}{k-Spades}{8-Clubs}. The turn brought the {10-Hearts}, giving Pellegrino an open ended straight draw, but as Aguiar said with joy as he raised his hands, "I have blockers!". Pellegrino would need an ace, queen, jack, or nine to scoop the pot, but the river was the {7-Spades}. Aguiar jumps back up to 490,000, while Pellegrino is now the short stack at 375,000.
