Tommy Vedes Eliminated in 4th Place ($55,960)

Tommy Vedes-4th Place
Tommy Vedes-4th Place

It just seemed like Nick Jivkov had Tommy Vedes's number all day, but this time, Vedes was just plain unlucky. Jivkov raised it up to 65,000 on the button, and Vedes called from the big blind. The flop came down {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, and Vedes checked to Jivkov, who made it 80,000 to go. Vedes counted out the rest of his chips, 245,000 on top of the bet, and after about 30 seconds of thinking, slid them all into the middle. Jivkov thought for about 15 seconds before calling. The cards were flipped, and Vedes was in great shape.

Vedes: {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Jivkov: {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The turn brought the {5-Clubs}, keeping Vedes out in front, but the dealer peeled the {9-Spades} off on the river, giving Jivkov two pair. That was good enough to eliminate Vedes, who will take home just under $56,000. Meanwhile, Jivkov is now over 2 million in chips, and has a huge chip lead on Aguiar and Pellegrino.

Jivkov Snags Some From Vedes

Action began on Tommy Vedes, who raised from the button. Jonathan Aguiar folded from the small and Nick Jivkov 3-bet to 110,000 from the big. Vedes flatted to see a flop, which came {5-Spades}{K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

Vedes checked to Jivkov, who led out for 130,000. Action was back on Vedes, who tanked for some time before tossing his cards high into the air and into the muck.

"I thought you were shipping it," Jivkov said - revealing {K-}{K-} for top set.

Jivkov is up to 1,650,000, while Vedes has slipped to 380,000.

Pellegrino Doubles Through Jivkov

On the very next hand, Nick Jivkov raised pot to 105,000, and Bryan Pellegrino moved all in. Jivkov called, and the cards were flipped.

Jivkov: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Pellegrino: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Pellegrino woke up with the rockets at the perfect time, and he was in great shape to get most of the chips back that he just lost. The flop was scary looking at first, coming {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Pellegrino was still out in front, and he stayed that way on the turn, the {4-Clubs}, and the river, the {j-Clubs}. Pellegrino is back up to 400,000 after that hand, while Jivkov is still well out in front with 1.5 million.

Vedes Doubles Again - This Time Through Pellegrino

Action began on Tommy Vedes on the cutoff, who announced, "pot," which meant a raise to 105,000. It was folded to Bryan Pellegrino on the big blind, who announced another pot-raise, which was enough to put Vedes all in. Vedes called and hands were turned up.

Vedes: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Pellegrino: {A-Spades}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Vedes doubled through Pellegrino.

Jivkov Takes Massive Pot Off Vedes

Nick Jivkov
Nick Jivkov

Nick Jivkov came in for a raise to 55,000 on the button, and Tommy Vedes defended his big blind. The flop came down {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}, and Vedes check called a bet of 50,000. The {9-Spades} hit the turn, and Vedes checked again to Jivkov, who made it 65,000 to go. Vedes beat Jivkov into the pot, and the river brought the {q-Spades}. Vedes checked one more time, and Jivkov assembled a huge bet of 268,000. Vedes went deep into the tank, as he slowly assembled the call, and slowly ran his hand up and down the tower of chips. This was worth half of his remaining stack, so it was a big decision for Vedes.

Eventually he slid the call in, and Jivkov said "nuts" and showed {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Vedes slammed his hand down on the table, and mucked his hand. After the pot, Jivkov has a massive lead over the field, sitting on 1.7 million, while Vedes tumbles down to 250,000.

Vedes Doubles Through Aguiar

Jonathan Aguiar raised to 50,000 even from the cutoff and found one caller in Tommy Vedes from the big blind.

The flop came {4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and Vedes checked to Aguiar, who made a continuation bet of 60,000. Vedes responded by raising the pot to 292,000 and Aguiar quickly announced he was all in. Vedes called just as quickly.

Vedes: {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a pair of nines and a flush draw.
Aguiar: {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for the nut-flush draw.

Vedes was ahead but would need to dodge any more clubs to survive. The {5-Diamonds} turn and {5-Hearts} river bricked out for Aguiar and Vedes doubled through him to 800,000.

Aguiar was cut down to 320,000.

Jivkov's Great Call Gets Him Over a Million

Nick Jivkov raised it up to 55,000 on the button, and Tommy Vedes defended his big blind. The flop came down {4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, and both players checked. The turn brought the {6-Clubs}, and Vedes cut out a bet of 63,000, and put it into the middle. Jivkov made the call after a few seconds of thought, and the river came the {7-Diamonds}. Vedes took his time in counting out a bet, slowly adding chips to the bet for about 20 seconds, before finally sliding a bet of 123,000 into the middle.

Jivkov went deep into the tank as he counted out the chips for the call. He then cut out some green T25,000 chips for a raise, but ultimately put them back in his stack. After two minutes of thought, he tossed the call in. Vedes said "good call" but didn't show his hand. Neither player wanted to expose their cards, but it was on Vedes to either show or muck. He elected to muck, and Jivkov showed {a-Spades}{8-Hearts} for just ace high. After the pot, Jivkov is over 1.2 million, while Vedes drops to 400,000.

Daniel Negreanu Eliminated in 5th Place ($41,683)

Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu opened the action with a min-raise to 48,000, and it was folded to Nick Jivkov in the small blind. Jivkov raised it up to 112,000, and it was back to Negreanu, who wasted little time in moving the rest of his chips in. It was a total of 181,000, and Jivkov made the call. The cards were flipped, and Negreanu was in great shape.

Negreanu: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Jivkov: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

When the flop came down {10-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, Negreanu let out a mini yell of celebration, until he realized that Jivkov had picked up an open ended straight draw. "No king or eight or else we're dead" he yelled to his rail as the {2-Hearts} hit the turn. "No king or eight" Negreanu said one more time, but unfortunately for him, the dealer peeled off a {k-Clubs} on the river. Negreanu left with a smile on his face, as he takes home over $40,000 for his efforts. Meanwhile, Jivkov propels himself to the chip lead, sitting on 940,000.

Mike Allis Eliminated in 6th Place ($31,452)

Mike Allis
Mike Allis

Nick Jivkov opened to 55,000 from cutoff and action folded around to Mike Allis in the big blind, who decided to call.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{A-Clubs} and Allis checked, prompting a 65,000 bet from Jivkov.

"How big is your kicker?" Allis asked.

No reply.

Allis then pushed his remaining stack into the middle. Jivkov quickly called.

Jivkov: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} for a pair of kings.
Allis: {3-Spades}{4-Spades} for a stone bluff.

The {3-Spades} turn and {A-Hearts} river was too little too late for Allis and we was sent to the rail in 6th place.

Jivkov is up to 580,000 following the hand.
