Hobson Doubles Through Du Plessis

Greg Hobson Doubles Up
Greg Hobson Doubles Up

Seth Davies had the button and Greg Hobson raised to 35,000. Davies called and it was around to Eugene Du Plessis who made it 150,000 to go.

Hobson replied by moving all in for 510,000 total. Davies got out of the way and the hands were flipped up after Du Plessis announced a call.

Du Plessis: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Hobson: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

We were racing here at the final table and Hobson retained his lead on the flop of {8-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{6-Spades}. The {4-Diamonds} turned and Du Plessis was in need of an ace or king to eliminate Hobson from the field. Fortunately for Hobson the river was the {4-Spades}, allowing his tens to hold and him to score a double up.

Du Plessis Pushes Out Opponents

Five players saw a flop for 1,000 and it came {6-Spades}{10-Spades}{Q-Spades}. All five checked to the {4-Diamonds} on the turn.

Mike Sowers started the betting by leading out for 28,000. John Hayes opted to raise right behind, however, making it 75,000 to go. Eugene Du Plessis sat motionless for about a minute before making it 170,000 total.

It folded back to Sowers who quickly got rid of his hand. Hayes tanked and moved chips around for over three minutes before finally choosing to throw away his hand, thus awarding Du Plessis the pot.

Gimbel Be Nimble

John Hayes had the button and seven players saw a flop of {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

After several checks, Greg Hobson fired out 38,000. Harrison Gimbel check-called the bet and the two were heads up to fourth street. The dealer pounded the table and showed the two the {10-Hearts} for the turn. They both checked and the {6-Hearts} came on the river.

Gimbel fired out 75,000 only to have Hobson raise to 150,000. After about two minutes in the tank, Gimbel called and showed {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} for a pair of queens. Hobson mucked and Gimbel was awarded the pot.
