Ivey Eliminated By Blom
Stud
Phil Ivey has just been eliminated at the hands of start-of-the-day chip leader Viktor Blom. These two are no stranger to one another, having played plenty of high-stakes action online together.
Ivey lost a very big hand recently against Joe Cassidy and Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi that left him with just a bit over 100,000 in chips. All the money then went in on a hand of Seven Card Stud against Blom.

On third, Ivey completed and Blom called. Pairing his king on fourth street, Ivey tossed out a double bet of 40,000. Blom threw in 20,000, but the dealer instructed him the bet was for 40,000.
"Can I take it back?" asked Blom before finally making the call.
On fifth street, Ivey bet his last 23,000 and Blom called before the hands were exposed. Ivey had a pair of kings and Blom had just four Broadway cards.
"I'd have been all right with that," said Ivey, citing Blom asking to take his bet back on fourth.
As the boards ran out, Blom made a flush on sixth street. Ivey was up and out the door before getting his seventh street cad as he was drawing dead. His hand was mucked and he was eliminated just a few spots short of the money.
