Table #26 Doing Shots, Marcel Vonk & Musumeci Losing a Pot
If you want to have a bit of fun - and after all that is what it is all about - then cross your fingers and hope you get moved to Table 26. Half of the table have decided to play with antes and the other half are downing shots. Seated in seat seven - beer in tow - is Kevin Mathers. Mathers, or Kevmath as he is known to the poker population, keeps the world of poker together through his phenomenal reach through social media. Seriously, this man never sleeps and maybe that is why he only has 1,000 chips left? Here is Mathers getting off to a woeful start.
There was a limper up front when Mathers raised to 125 from the hijack. There were calls from the cutoff, big blind and the original limper. So four people saw a flop of and Mathers narrowed the field down to just himself and the cutoff with a 225 bet. The turn was the and Mathers check-folded to a 450 bet, leaving himself with 1,000 chips.
Earlier we reported on a hand with David Peters and told you that he finished as a runner-up in a $1,000 back in 2010. The winner of that event was Marcel Vonk, who picked up $570,960 and a World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet for his troubles. Well the super-intelligent Vonk is in the house. He is currently sipping a Latte over at Table 11 and has starting stack.
Amanda Musumeci is a feline with form. When it comes to carving a hole through fields in excess of a few thousand Musumeci has the secret formula. After all she not only finished 62nd in last years WSOP Main Event for $130,997, but she was runner-up to Ashkan Razavi in Event #9: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry just a few weeks ago for $481,643. Here is Musumeci in action.
We caught the action on a flop of and 100 in the pot. The small blind checked to Musumeci who made a c-bet 100 from mid-position and the small blind called. The turn card was the and this time Musumeci bet 275 - once checked to - but was forced to fold to a 700 check-raise. She now has 2,500.
