Straight No Good For Fish

As we walked up to Table 85 in the Brasilia room red section we noticed two top professionals. In seat two we saw Darryll Fish who was right next to 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Carlos Mortensen. As we looked down at the felt there was already a {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} board out in a hand between these two players.

The action was on Fish who threw out 250 chips from the button with 375 chips in the pot. Mortensen was in the small blind and he opted to raise to 625. Fish gave it some thought before moving all in, and Mortesen snap-called.

Fish turned over {5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, and reacted disgusted when Mortensen showed {10-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. Fish was drawing dead, and after a count of the chips it turned out Mortensen had him covered. Mortensen told him he himself got knocked out in a similar situation yesterday, but obviously that didn't help Fish who lost his chips before the start of the second level.
