Bardah Makes Quads, Cripples Clark

With the board reading {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, Zach Clark and Ronnie Bardah had a raising war until the action was capped at five bets. Clark put in the final raise, and Bardah snapped it off.

"I wish I could re-raise," said Bardah. "I have quads."

Sure enough, Bardah tabled his {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and began raking in a giant pile of chips. Clark was left with just 15,000 and is suddenly on life support.

Werdehoff Out, 27 Left

Down to 16,200, Steven Werdehoff raised from the cutoff and got a single caller in Hans Minocha in the big blind. The flop came {7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Minocha checked. Werdehoff bet, then Minocha tossed out few too many orange chips — it appeared he intended to call, but had raised — and Werdehoff called.

The turn brought the {9-Spades} and Minocha went ahead and bet. Werdehoff raised with what he had left, and Minocha called. Werdehoff had {J-Spades}{10-Clubs} and needed help versus Minocha's {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. But the river brought the {3-Diamonds}, sending Werdehoff to the cashier's desk with a 28th-place ticket.

Van den Bijgaart Bests Qutami

With the flop reading {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, Joep van den Bijgaart and Ayman Qutami capped the action, leaving Qutami with less than one big bet left behind. He got the rest of it in on the {Q-Clubs} turn, and he was trailing heading to the river:

Qutami: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
van den Bijgaart: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

Qutami needed a nine, but the {6-Diamonds} river provided no help and he hit the rail in 29th place.

Qutami's Quest Continues (For Now)

The tourney's short stack Ayman Qutami has been all in a couple of times early on, surviving both. In the latter instance, he was all in by the turn against Steven Werdehoff with the board showing {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. Werdehoff had {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for sixes, a gutshot, and a diamond draw while Qutami had turned a straight with {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}. The river was the {A-Spades}, and Qutami survived.
