End-of-the-Night Double for Sexton

Mike Sexton
Mike Sexton

Mike Sexton, who if you recall finished as the runner up in this event last year, had the bring in and saw David Singer complete. Sexton then put in a raise, Singer called, and it was off to the turn.

Sexton: {2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} / {5-Hearts}{A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} / {5-Clubs}
Singer: {A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} / {6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts} / {3-Hearts}

Sexton bet on fourth and Singer called. On fifth, Sexton bet his remaining chips and said to his opponent, "You get a discount, ninety-five."

It must have appealed to Singer who made a somewhat hesitant call. Sixth was dealt up while seventh was given to each player facedown. "How can I lose this?" Sexton asked to no one in particular. "Anything from an ace to an eight." Luckily for him, it was the {5-Clubs} and he scooped with a pair of fives and a six-five low.
