Ivey Active On the Bubble

Phil Ivey has been staying active on the money bubble and keeping with his aggressive style of play, although he did lose one of the following two hands.

Limit Hold'em

On the first hand we caught, Steven Goldberg raised from middle position and Ivey reraised from the hijack seat. Goldberg called and the flop came down {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Goldberg checked and Ivey bet. Goldberg called.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Goldberg check-called again. The river was the {J-Diamonds} and Goldberg checked a third time. Ivey fired another bet and Goldberg folded.

On the next hand, Ivey was in action against Ian Johns on the {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop. Ivey check-raised Johns on the flop and then checked the {2-Clubs} turn. Johns bet his last 4,400 and Ivey tank-called.

Johns held top set with the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs} and Ivey the {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, which was drawing dead. The river completed the board with the {J-Hearts} and Johns doubled.
