"I was down to just 2,500, and then I tripled and doubled up," Scott Fischman just told us right after he lost a 50,000-chip pot against Rep Porter. A comeback was near for the 2004 double bracelet winner, but Porter, who also has two WSOP bracelets, made a better hand.

Fischman told us he opened to 3,500 after which Porter moved all in from the small blind. Fischman called, and risked his remaining chips.

Porter stood pat, and Fischman took one card. He told us afterwards he folded a {J-}.

Fischman was drawing live, but didn't have a ton of outs as he needed to catch a four, three or deuce in order to stay in the race. He drew a {7-} to improve his hand, but that wasn't enough.
