Osalian Looking To Make a Dream Come True

Level 9 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Sarkiss Osalian is currently leading the way of the $25,300 One Drop Mega Satellite and is doing so on the cheap. At Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia where the World Series of Poker will be headed in April 2013, a free-to-enter satellite was held with optional $10 rebuys on Day 1. On Day 2, anyone could enter for $550. The event attracted 550 players and Osalian won.

The prize Osalian received for winning was a $40,000 package to the 2012 WSOP that included a seat into this $25,300 satellite and also the $10,000 Main Event. What a story it would be if he's able to ride this out to a seat on the Big One for One Drop, but only time will tell.

Jacobson Doubles Through Frankenberger

Billy Baxter limped under the gun and Andy Frankenberger raised from the next seat to 7,000. Action then folded to Martin Jacobson on the button and he reraised to 18,000. Play folded back to Baxter and he gave it up. Frankenberger reraised all in and Jacobson called.

Frankenberger: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Jacobson: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The flop, turn and river ran out {J-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Jacobson doubled up.

Pair of Aces for O'Dwyer

From under the gun, Steve O'Dwyer raised to 5,500. Igor Kurganov reraised from the hijack seat to 12,500. Action folded back to O'Dwyer and he called.

The flop came down {A-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} and both players checked to see the {7-Spades} fall on the turn. Both checked again and the {9-Hearts} landed on the river. Both checked once more.

O'Dwyer showed the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and Kurganov mucked his hand.

Osalian Busts Schwartz

With about 35,000 in the middle on a flop of {8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, Sarkiss Osalian bet 25,000 after thinking for a while. Luke Schwartz tanked painfully and then moved all in for around 50,000. Osalian called.

Osalian: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Schwartz: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The turn was the {J-Spades} and river the {5-Diamonds} to bust Schwartz and send Osalian up to 245,000 in chips.

No More Ivey

Level 7 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Phil Ivey busted early on from the event and although he was asking about the re-entry, he has not come back. With registration now closed, Ivey is officially no longer in the field. He is already entered in the Big One for One Drop, so we'll be seeing him in action tomorrow anyway.
