Gordon Gaining Ground

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We witnessed a rather large pot develop before the flop, and when it was all said and done, John Gordon had grabbed the momentum and dragged the chips in his direction.

Jonathan Driscoll opened for 25,000 chips and Gordon made the call, only to see Jeffrey Warren three-bet to 75,000. This prompted a quick fold by Driscoll, but Gordon was not as easy to push around, and after asking his opponent to count his chips, Gordon decided to come along.

The flop fell {6-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Spades} and Warren paused for a minute in reflection before opting to check. The dealer thought she heard both players check and prepared to reveal the turn, but Gordon stopped her and quickly said "no check, I'm all-in!" Warren winced and eventually decided to release his hand. Gordon stood up and said, "Want to see it?" before flipping up the {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a flopped two pair. He asked Warren if he held ace-king but no answer was forthcoming, and Gordon now has almost 350,000 chips at his disposal.
