Missed Opportunities

Just before the level up, Daniel Negreanu raised from the hijack and received a call from Dani Stern in the small blind. Thomas Bichon then reraised from the big blind and action was back on Negreanu, who decided to four-bet to 40,000. Surprisingly, Stern then five-bet to 140,000. Bichon called off for around 40,000 and the pressure was back on Negreanu.

"Queens?" Negreanu asked. "I'm supposed to call if you have queens." After about a minute of thought, Negreanu tossed {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. Stern didn't have queens, instead revealing {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}. Bichon was at risk and needed help with his {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. The {K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop did not provide it, but it did get Negreanu to chuckle at a missed opportunity.

It looked as if Bichon was destined for the rail, but then the {A-Diamonds} hit the river to give him the lead. The {8-Clubs} river changed nothing and Bichon more than tripled on the hand.
