The Fourth-Inning Stretch
With the players now on their last break of the night, it's time to bring you up to speed with the latest from Day 2a of the 2011 WSOP Main Event (i.e. those who can't be bothered scrolling down):
Simon Borg, Steve Schlesberger, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Barry Shulman, Andy Bloch, Wendeen Eolis and NBA superstar Paul "The Truth" Pierce were amongst the latest casualties in the last couple of hours, with funny man Brad Garrett struggling for chips, along with Phil Hellmuth, who is being watched like a hawk by the ESPN production crew.
It's been mixed fortunes for Jason Mericier, Sorel Mizzi and Jason Alexander, as well as Daniel Negreanu, but he's starting to find his groove after he busted Fred Goldberg over on the feature table. However, Pim de Goede, Greg Vogelsong and Shaun Deeb are beginning to move on up.
They'll still have to work a little harder to catch Ankush Mandavia, who currently leads the pack with 368,000. He's followed closely by Stephane Albertini (350,000), Tom Carpenter (341,000), Aleksandr Mozhnyakov (355,000) and Don Nguyen (332,000).
We'll see you back here in 20 minutes!
