A Chip Leader Appears

We've just spotted Geoff Rasmussen in the Orange section, sitting pretty with 255,000 chips. That looks like the stack to beat for now, and the chase is on.

Double For SlotBOOM!

You might recall Rolf Slotboom from Day 1a and we certainly didn’t forget him as he’s still got his box of Tic-Tacs on top of his stack and is wearing his same mirrored visor glasses. He’s also got some sort of glass rock that he’s using as a card protector.

Anyways, Slotboom raised to 3,600 in the cutoff and Estelle Denis three-bet to 10,500 from the small blind. Slotboom went into the tank and rechecked his cards several times in between shuffling and cutting out chips. After a few minutes, Slotboom eventually four-bet and Denis quickly moved all in. Slotboom shuffled some chips for a few seconds more before he made the call and the players turned up their hands.

Slotboom: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Denis: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The board provided no help to Denis as it ran out {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{X-}. After it was counted out, Denis had 29,600 total while Slotboom had 1,000 less so he doubled up and Denis was crippled.

Mercier Four-Bets

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Jason Mercier opened the pot with a raise to 1,200 from the hijack seat before play folded around to the player in the big blind. That player reraised to 3,200. Mercier then four-bet to 7,150. His opponent tanked for a bit, asked Mercier how much he had behind, which was about 25,000, and then folded his hand.

Brad Garrett -- funny man.
Brad Garrett -- funny man.

"Play with me vato."

After Brad Garret attempted to tip the dealer a 100 tournament chip from winning a pot.

"Straddle!"

"Dinner in my room tonight guys. I want to get to know each other better. You seem like a nice bunch."

"I keep hearing this voice..."

"Hey buddy, can you unplug your shirt for me for a minute?"

To a guy wearing an exceptionally colorful shirt.

Baby Flush Over Baby Flush

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

The action folded to Russell Carson who raised to 1,600 in the small blind. Tommy Le defended his big, and the flop fell {2-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Carson led for 2,300, and Le called.

The turn was the {5-Spades}, and Carson led again - this time for 3,125. Le called, and the river was the {9-Spades}. Both players checked.

Carson tabled {6-Spades}{x-} for a flush, but Le opened up {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a higher flush. Le won the pot, and is now above 50,000 chips.
