Sam Barnhart - 17th Place

From middle position, Sam Barnhart raised to 550,000. Pius Heinz reraised all in from the small blind for 5.51 million. When action got back to Barnhart, he called and was all in for less at 4.025 million.

Barnhart held the {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Heinz the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Barnhart would need a nine or some other form of help in order to win this one and stay alive.

The flop came down {J-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Barnhart missed so far. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and now just one of the remaining two nines on the river would give Barnhart the double up in order for him to stave elimination.

The river completed the board with the {8-Spades} and it wasn't what Barnhart needed. He was eliminated in 17th place for $378,796.

Barnhart has had an amazing year so far on the felt, especially WSOP-branded felt. He won the WSOP Circuit Harrah's Tunica Main Event for nearly $150,000 and then went on to win the $1,000,000 National Championship freeroll to the tune of $300,000. This score puts his 2011 tournament earnings up to over $835,000.
