Heimiller Busts Caridad

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

Dan Heimiller and Juan Caridad got most of the money in on the flop of {8-Hearts}{a-Spades}{4-Hearts}. Caridad announced he was all in blind on the turn and the dealer waited for Heimiller to act. Of course, he wanted to see the turn card first even though he would likely call anyway so the dealer "burned and turned" the {3-Hearts}. Heimiller did call and the hands were revealed.

Heimiller: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Caridad: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The river was the {8-Spades} and made Heimiller a better two pair than Caridad which was good enough to scoop the pot. He now has 100,000 in chips and is towards the top of the leaderboard.

Dehkarghani Hands Tehan a Double

Raymond Dehkarghani raised to 3,200 in middle position and Nathaniel Wiesner called in the hijack. Joe Tehan then raised the pot on the button. Dehkarghani raised which got Wienser to fold and Tehan called all in for the 24,000 he started the hand with.

Tehan: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Dehkarghani: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

The flop came down {K-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} to give Dehkarghani top-top to go along with the nut-low draw but Tehan’s aces were still ahead for the time being. The {9-Diamonds} turn was an absolute brick as was the {10-Spades} river and Tehan’s aces held on for the double up.

Watch Out for Seidel

Erik Seidel put in a small raise preflop only to have Fabrizio Gonzalez reraise to 4,600 on the button. Max Stern called from the big blind and Seidel responded by making it 13,100 more to go. Gonzalez made the call while Stern got out of the way.

When the flop came down {3-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}, Seidel moved all in for his last 34,000 and Gonzalez hit the tank. He thought for a couple of minutes before tossing his cards in the muck. Seidel is up over 75K.

Talaber Doubles

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

On a {q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds} board, Mikhail Savinov was facing a decision to call the all in bet from Richard Talaber. After a couple of minutes, he decided to make the call and Talaber tabled {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for a flush that Savinov was unable to beat. Talaber now has 60,000 while Savinov falls to 20,000.

Vaughan Wins Battle of Brazil

We caught up with the action heads up on an {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop between two Brazilians. It appeared as though Jose Vaughan bet 6,600 but Alexandre Gomes certainly raised the pot. Vaughan called all in for his last 24,000 more or so.

Vaughan: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Gomes: {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Vaughan was ahead with top and bottom pair but Gomes had higher two pair outs to go along with his nut-low draw. The {K-Diamonds} on the turn gave Gomes some additional high hand outs but the {A-Hearts} filled Vaughan up who doubled.

Mizzi Gets 3/4

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 0 ante

We came to the table as Sorel Mizzi and Surindar Sunar were heads up. The flop came {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and after a series of raises, the two got the money in preflop, with Sunar having Mizzi slightly covered.

Mizzi: {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Sunar: {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

Mizzi had a pair of fives, along with a low draw, straight draw, and flush draw. Sunar held a giant wrap, and also had a great low draw himself. Upon seeing the hands, fellow table mate Ali Eslami was surprised, and said jokingly, "Does anyone play aces anymore?". The turn came the {3-Spades}, giving both players an identical six high straight and six low. However, the {6-Diamonds} hit the river, giving Mizzi a flush, and three quarters of the pot. Mizzi is now sitting on 43,100.
