Hellmuth Makes a Straight

"Honey! You see that? I played a nine and an eight!"
"Honey! You see that? I played a nine and an eight!"

No-Limit Hold'em

From the cutoff seat, eleven-time World Series of Poker gold bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth raised to 26,000. George Lind called from the button and everyone else folded. The flop came down {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {Q-Diamonds} land on the turn. Hellmuth bet 50,000 and Lind made the call.

The {10-Hearts} completed the board on the river. WIth a pair of tens now on board, Hellmuth bet 130,000. Lind made the call.

Hellmuth tabled the {9-Spades}{8-Clubs} for a queen-high straight and Lind mucked his hand.
