2011 World Series of Poker
Maria Mayrinck was under the gun and shipped her short stack of 3,000 holding . She received a call from an opponent holding , meaning she needed to improve. Needless to say, the flop helped her out a bit as she flopped a straight flush!
Mayrinck currently sits with 5,550.
It didn't take long for the first bust-out to occur, with another male player being sent to the rail at the hands of Michelle "Sassy" Richey.
As Richey recalled to us, the man pushed all-in with before the flop, but Richey snap-called with and the board bricked out. Richey was delighted when our reporter advised her that the hand was going up on PokerNews.
"I finally get to be on PokerNews now? That's awesome!" she exclaimed. It's also the second male scalp she's claimed today - watch out, boys!

We missed the hand that did Liv Boeree in, but the player who did the deed, Esther Bonding, was kind enough to recap what happened to us. Liv Boeree got the last of her 1,500 in preflop with , and Bonding called her down with . The board only paired one of their cards, as Bonding paired her ten on the flop, and that was all that she would need. Bonding won the hand, and collected her second big bounty of the day, as she also did Jennifer Tilly in earlier in the day.

We went over to Lana O'Brien's table and saw that she was in the middle of a big pot, but unfortuantely, she was in rough shape. O'Brien raised on the button, and the big blind shoved all in for around 10,000. O'Brien decided to make the call, and saw that the big blind woke up with a monster.
O'Brien:
Big Blind:
Any hopes that she had of pulling a sick suckout virtually went out the door when the flop came out . The turn provided her with some hope when it came the . Even though it gave her opponent a straight, she could catch a six or ace for a chop pot. However, the river came the , and O'Brien shipped most of her stack over to her opponent, leaving her with just 2,000.
With a board reading , Traci Brown moved all in for 5,375 from middle position. Her sole opponent, a woman in the cutoff, thought for a few moments and then called off her stack of 4,500.
Brown:
Opponent:
Brown was ahead with two pair, but she needed to dodge a lot of cards on the river, including any club. Both players were clearly anxious as the dealer burned and put out the . Brown headed to her supporters on the rail for a brief celebration as her opponent was sent to the rail.
Gloria Balding opened for 650 from middle position and found one caller in the big blind.
The flop came and the player in the big blind checked, prompting a 900 c-bet from Balding. Her opponent mucked without much hesitation.
Balding is up to 5,700.

On a flop that read , the player in the small blind checked to Wooka Kim who bet out; the small blind called and then open-shoved after the dealer produced the on the turn.
Kim snap-called and small blind players showed but was trailing Kim's . Kim's set then improved to a full house after the repeat came down on the river and she's now just under 11,000 in chips as she moves to her new table.

We caught up with the action on a flop. Erica Schoenberg's opponent checked from the big blind, prompting a 800 bet from Schoenberg. Her opponent deliberated, but then stuck out a check-raise to 2,000. Schoenberg quickly mucked and has slipped to 27,000.
