Blind vs. Blind

Chris Moorman raised to 44,000 from the small blind and found a caller in Mike Sowers in the big. The {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} flop saw Moorman check-call a bet of 56,000, which was followed by another check-call for 115,000 on the {2-Hearts} turn.

Both players proceeded to check the {Q-Spades} river and Moorman showed {J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a jack-high flush. It was good as Sowers slowly slide his cards in the muck.

T-Wade Dunks a Double

Tristan Wade is all smiles
Tristan Wade is all smiles

Nick Grippo opened to 34,000 from under the gun, and for (at least) the third time today, Tristan Wade three-bet shoved over him - this time for 265,000. Grippo called, and the hands were opened.

Grippo: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Wade: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Wade had him dominated, and held as the board ran {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

ElkY Takes Some Off Paur

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier raised to 35,000 from the cutoff and Taylor Paur chose to defend from the big blind. It was heads up to the {2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop, which both players checked. When the dealer burned and turned the {A-Clubs}, Paur check-called a bet of 44,000, leading to the {A-Hearts} on the river.

Again Paur check-called a bet, this time 111,000, only to muck when Grospellier rolled over {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}.

Matthew Hyman opened to 40,000 from the cutoff, Mike Sowers three-bet to 133,000 from the small blind, and Hyman moved all in for 378,000. Sowers quickly called.

Hyman: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Sowers: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Hyman had Sowers crushed, and extended is lead further when the dealer fanned {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} It was all over when the {5-Diamonds} turned, making the {3-Spades} a formality, and Hyman doubled to 775,000 chips.

Lee Markholt Eliminated in 16th Place ($43,976)

Lee Markhholt (16th Place- $43,976)
Lee Markhholt (16th Place- $43,976)

Action folded to Lee Markholt in the cutoff and he raised to 37,000. It was enough to get the button out, but Ben Tollerene opted for a three-bet to 82,000 in the small blind. Action folded back to Markholt and he took his time before stacking some chips and sliding in a four-bet to around 340,000. Tollerene immediately moved all in, Markholt called off his remaining 200,000, and the cards were turned up.

Markholt: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Tollerene: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

It was a classic flip for the former rodeo cowboy's tournament life, and he seemed a bit relieved when the {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop missed Tollerene; however, Markholt's enthusiasm quickly faded when the {A-Diamonds} spiked on the turn. The {6-Hearts} river sent him to the rail in 16th place while Tollerene extended his chip lead to over 2.2 million.

Moorman Six-Bet Shoves

...with jack-seven.

Lee Markholt started the action, raising to 26,000 from under the gun. Ben Tollerene three-bet to 65,000 on the button, Chris Moorman four-bet to 145,000 from the big blind, and Markholt got out of the way. Tollerene then five-bet to 275,000, Moorman six-bet shoved for effectively 914,000, and Tollerene called.

Moorman: {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs} (Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee)
Tollerene: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop gave Moorman four extra outs to a straight, but neither the {4-Spades} on the turn nor the {q-Spades} on the river gave him the best hand. Tollerene shipped a massive double, while Moorman is still floating around a million in chips.
