Brikis Avoids a Showdown

With four players in the hand and about 2,100 in the pot, action checked around to the player in the cutoff on the {8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop and he bet 750. Josh Brikis, who was in the big blind position, was the only player to make the call and watch the turn come down the {A-Hearts}.

Brikis checked, the cutoff bet 1,350, and Brikis woke up with a check-raise to 4,050. The cutoff thought for a minute before making the call and watching the {K-Hearts} hit the river. Brikis wasted little time in betting a single orange T5,000 chip, which put the cutoff in the tank. Eventually he settled ona fold and allowed Brikis to take down the pot without a showdown.
