Dorfman Calls Value Bet and Wins

Miller Dao started the action by opening to 3,600, and Randy Dorfman called on the button. Both players checked the {2-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, and Dao checked again after the {a-Diamonds} turned. Dorfman tossed out 4,500, and Dao called.

The river was the {j-Spades}, and Dao led for the first time, firing 3,800. Dorfman went into the tank, saying something about it being a value bet, yet still called. Dao opened up {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a pair of jacks with a ten kicker, and Dorfman tabled {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for the same pair, but with a better kicker.
